The City of Los Alamitos spearheaded this program to ensure that its older community members, who make up more than 30% of the City population, are able to get around the City without having to rely on friends and family to drive them.

“This is just the first step in the implementation of our senior master plan. This will be the first of its kind in Orange County” said City Manager, Chet Simmons.

The Los Al Link Breakdown

Los Al Link is funded by a joint effort between the City of Los Alamitos and the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) through the Measure M2 Project V grant. The program is free for passengers aged 50+ making mobility as easy as possible for the City’s older residents. For riders below 50, Los Al Link costs $2.50 matching the pricing of local transit

The fleet consists of four vehicles: two sedans, one wheelchair van, and one ID Buzz, all of which are 100% electric, helping to reduce emissions and the City’s local environmental health.

Los Al Link runs from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday - Saturday with seasonal summer hours from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, Tuesday - Saturday from the Tuesday after Memorial Day to Labor Day.

We’ve seen great success with senior-focused mobility programs before, like with our service in Chula Vista, CA, so we’re confident in our optimism for Los Al Link and the impact that it will make.

To ride Los Al Link, simply download the Ride Circuit app, select Los Alamitos as your location, enter your pick-up and drop-off points, request a ride, and hop on in!
