Electric Shuttle in Pompano Beach, Circuit-Pompano Beach, Surpasses 500,000 Passengers

The City of Pompano Beach’s free, electric, on-demand shuttle service, Circuit - Pompano Beach, reaches an incredible milestone transporting its 500,000th passenger last week. The service offers residents and visitors accessible, zero-emission transportation throughout the city.

Circuit - Pompano Beach was implemented by the City of Pompano Beach through grants and city matching funds in 2021 to help strengthen the local transit network with an accessible, no-fare option.

“For many years, Circuit - Pompano Beach has provided great service to the residents of Pompano Beach. We’ve seen ridership grow year over year, and it’s greatly appreciated by our residents and visitors alike,” said Jeff Lantz, Pompano Beach Parking Manager. “Circuit’s microtransit service has been instrumental in reducing traffic congestion by removing vehicles from our busy roadways which has had the added benefit of significantly reducing GHG in our air. I’m proud to congratulate Circuit on surpassing their 500,000 Pompano Beach riders milestone, and we look forward to their continued growth in Pompano Beach”

Operated by Circuit and available through an on-demand app, Circuit - Pompano Beach connects riders to everyday needs like grocery stores and healthcare, along with major destinations such as the beach and downtown.

Performance data reflects consistent use of the shuttle across Pompano Beach.

Circuit - Pompano Beach service metrics include:

  • Over 500,000 passengers served with more than 200 ride requests per day, highlighting consistent demand for the service.
  • More than 175 metric tons of CO2 emissions avoided supporting local air quality improvements and the City’s sustainability goals.
  • More than 80% of trips include two or more riders, reducing the number of single-occupancy trips.

“Reaching more than 500,000 passenger trips shows how Circuit - Pompano Beach has become part of daily life for residents across the City,” said Circuit Co-Founder and CEO Alex Esposito. “Designed around how people actually move through their community, the service supports everyday travel and helps keep Pompano Beach connected. We’re proud to continue working with the City to provide reliable, accessible transportation for the entire community.”

Pompano Beach’s transit system is more efficient, sustainable, and accessible through partnership with Circuit. The service surpassing 500,000 riders clearly signals the value Circuit - Pompano Beach provides to this community and microtransit’s potential to improve transit more broadly.
